Wine Storage Tips
If you feel that you don't have the necessary means to store your wines properly, then we will gladly accommodate you by keeping them in our warehouse which is climatically controlled. However, if you follow some basic storage guidelines you may be able to store them by yourself. When you buy wine, then its ideal location is of course your cellar, which is perfect for laying down a bottle in due to its consistently cool temperature and humidity. However a few simple rules if you don't have a cellar are thus: make sure to lay down the bottles horizontally to ensure the corks don't dry out and in turn let in air, which will spoil the wine. Avoid keeping wine in direct sunlight and try and keep them at a constant temperature; as long as it's above freezing and 18 degrees Celsius, this will be fine as the exact temperature is not as important as it being kept at a constant level. Your storage area should be dark and away from any heat sources such as hot water pipes; common places that we approve of are at the bottom of a cupboard or under the stairs, as insulation and a constant temperature is easily maintained here. Try and use a wine rack if possible, they don’t have to be expensive, and if you buy wine resist taking it out of its box, as cardboard is a decent insulator.
